Brought up in Newlyn and Penzance my Cornish roots
shape my life, driving the inspiration for my work
which stems from my love of both life form and the form
and colours of the Cornish landscape I see around
 me every day, giving me the impetus to continue
to experiment and to push my work in new directions.

My father's family were local fishermen, working
out of Newlyn for two generations. Several generations
of my mother's family lived at the Lizard. My
grandfather was a lighthouse keeper; his father
a renowned serpentine turner.
